Great! I want you to know this, this isn’t what I’m going to teach you. I don’t need to teach you what is healthy. But what I do know is that there is a disconnect between what you do know what you are actually doing. You’re coming to me for the implementation. You know eating wholesome, nutrient dense food is healthy. You know getting enough sleep is healthy. You know engaging in joyful movement that is not punishable is healthy. You know being mindful, present and engaging in social connectedness with others is healthy. And you know managing mental health such as stress and anxiety is healthy. However, it's not being implemented. So let’s figure it out together why that’s happening because that’s why you’re coming to me.
We think that reaching our health goals is about what we shouldn't be eating or sacrifice. Truth is, it’s not about sacrificing & it’s not about taking out certain food items. It’s about what actually is making it on to your plate. We want to be eating all the food groups! I promise it doesn’t include excluding diary, gluten, or any of your favorite foods.
Sister, I promise you that’s not what we (dietitians) do. This is not a one shot deal or one and done thing. IN FACT, that is not within our (dietitians) scope of practice or in our (dietitians) code of ethics, we (dietitians) are here to do the best for you.
